The Keeper is a great solution for women
As a regular femin.co.uk visitor you might have noticed that we often receive letters from women complaining about discomfort, itching, irritation, girl thingyl discharge and even allergic reactions in/on the genital area, usually due to their menstrual flow and the usage of sanitary towels. Many women have sought out natural remedies for these conditions and recently I checked out one as well. ‘Keeper’ is its name.
You could say that The Keeper is a healthy choice, as it doesn’t absorb fluids or change the natural acidic balance of the girl thingy. It doesn’t contain any bleach or glue, which can be heavy factors in causing allergic reactions. Indeed, it has helped women all over the world who suffer from allergic reactions against bleach, chemicals and other synthetic materials used to manufacture sanitary towels and tampons.
It’s believed that 7 million tampons and their wrappings are thrown away each year. Some of the manufacturers’ plastic applicators are considered to be having a serious effect on the environment, harming beach biospheres and endangering animal life – and to this number the pads haven’t even been included.
Environmentally friendly
The Keeper is made from natural gum rubber, which is tapped from rubber trees instead of cutting them down as is done when paper is produced
The Keeper lasts for ten years and therefore you don’t have to spend endless amounts of money every month on sanitary towels and tampons, which, once used, are essentially just chemical waste. Over 7 million tampons and their packaging are thrown away each year and some of the manufacturers’ plastic applicators have seriously affected the environment and endangered animal life. The amount of disposed sanitary towels that are thrown away each year isn’t even taken into account here.
The Keeper is a reusable soft rubber cup, which is placed inside the girl thingy during menstruation and can be used instead of sanitary towels and/or tampons. It can hold up to 30 ml of menstrual blood. The average amount of menstrual blood produced by women is 80-100 ml each period.
The cup comes in two sizes:
A – for women who have had children (girl thingyl birth)
B – for women who haven’t had children or have had children by caesarean section only
The Keeper is easy to use. You simply insert the cup into the girl thingy by folding it together. Its lower part should be approximately one to two centimetres above the entrance to the girl thingy. Note: be careful that you don’t place it too high up, as it might leak if you do. When you insert The Keeper, you twist it and pull well to ensure that it’s positioned correctly. The cup needs to be emptied regularly (every 6-12 hours) and cleaned with lukewarm water. By observing how much blood the cup takes you will soon learn how often it needs emptying. You don’t need to remove the cup when urinating or for bowel movements. It’s important to make sure that your hands are always clean when handling the cup. When the cup is emptied, you grasp the pull-tab firmly (which you can shorten if necessary).
Here you can read instructions!
The Keeper is perfect for all modern women, both at work and at play, and is even suitable for use at the gym and sports practice.
As the Keeper lasts for ten years it’s a great investment and is kind to the environment as well – that’s usually not the case. If, which rarely happens, a woman can’t use it, it comes with a three-month money back guarantee. I would encourage every woman, especially those who have experienced period-related problems such as allergic reactions or thrush, to check out this product.
