1 bottle of cheap gin 1 lb sloes 1/2 lb sugar (or 1 lbs if you like it syrupy and sweet)
Traditionally you should pick the sloes after the first frost but apparently sticking them in the freezer overnight has the same effect!
Prick the sloes (thaw them out if frozen) and put them in a demijohn or other sealed container with the bottle of gin and sugar. Shake the bottle well every day for about 8 weeks, until the gin is all pink.
