What else can it be used for? Are there any parts that can be used.
Trainers dead? What about the laces are they okay?
Take buttons and zips off garments for re-using.
I had a pair of combat trousers that died (and were cheap from a charity shop to start with). I cut the side pockets out and had buttoned pouches, the bottom part of the legs I cut off, hemmed and then had two drawstring pouches.
An old lipstick case can make a small emergency sewing kit or hold a few safety pins when out and about. It can also be used to store large needles, such as those for darning or tapestry.
Plastic pots that held cosmetics or medicines can be washed and used for craft items such as pins, buttons and beads.
Old food pots, such as margerine and ice-cream tubs can store leftovers and dried foods such as rice.
Two litre plastic bottles have dozens of uses. Amongst the more popular are:-
Cloches for seedlings or delicate plants.
Use the top part as a funnel or pushed into the ground for watering plants.
Re-use for drinks on days out or for freezing water in a heatwave (leave about 5cm at the top to allow for expansion). You must be careful about cleaning and drying the bottle!
Use as weights to keep ground cover material in place on an allotment.
The bottoms can be used as drip trays under plants.
