1. As an overall for painting and decorating.
2. As an overall for outdoor work. A long sleeved cotton shirt that is too big for you, with the cuffs removed makes a good loose- fitting smock which will keep you cool and keep the sun off you.
3. As an apron if your culinary skills are _creative_. ;-D
4. Keep the cuffs and use them for shoe-shine straps.
5. The sleeves, if sewn at one end can be used as storage bags for large dried herbs.
6. Keep an old shirt in the car to put over good clothes when changing a tyre or investigating the horrible clunking noise.
7. Use as a dust cover over good clothes.
8. A man's large shirt with the cuffs and collar removed makes a comfy nightshirt for a small woman.
9. Stitch the sleeves and stuff to make a draught excluder.
10. Stitch elastic at both ends of a sleeve, add a loop and you've got somewhere to store plastic carrier bags for re-using.
11. Use bits of it for sewing and craft projects such as quilting, use, it as cleaning cloths, cut up and into handkerchiefs.
12. If all else has failed and the shirt is cotton, remove buttons and compost!

Some good ideas there huswyf ;D
I admit I wear T-shirts until they're literally falling off me in rags then I cut 'em up and use them as dish cloths and dusters.
