Implementing Solutions to Climate Crises Announcements

Climate crises and their projected impacts present political, organizational, and personal imperatives at every level of human existence. The ecological and human health mayhem that can result from human-induced climate change warrants proactive, significant, and immediate responses. This strategic implementation needs to involve multiple human sectors and systems, if these massive and urgent challenges are to be effectively engaged and resolved.
The George Washington (GW) University School of Business and its Department of Strategic Management & Public Policy (SMPP), Environmental & Social Sustainability Initiative (ESSI), GW Institute for Corporate Responsibility, and the Center for International Business Education and Research (GW-CIBER) invite organizations, scholars, practitioners, students, and others to join forces to address what may be the most strategic issue of our time. We welcome our partners, the Bureau of National Affairs (BNA), the Climate Institute, David Gardiner & Associates, the Stella Group, Ltd., Simply Sustain, DC Sustainable Business Network (DCSBN), and the Aspen Institute Caseplace.Org, in co-sponsoring this action-and-results-oriented conference!
The goal of this event is both plainly simple and astoundingly complex --- to promote effective change toward significantly reducing harmful human-induced climate impacts. We have planned a blend of interesting, informative, and inspiring action-oriented sessions that will foster on-going, climate-related collaboration among attendees. Individuals and organizations are welcome to participate on one or more levels, from regular attendance and active participation to co-sponsorship and climate change-related products and services displays. Join us for a personally and professionally rewarding experience in advancing climate crises solutions. And, we are excited that Chad Holliday, Lester Brown, and many other excellent speakers will help energize participants to work together to advance practical and necessary steps toward a sustainable climate for us all!
This event will be held on February 4th and 5th (2007) in the George Washington University ( Washington, D.C.) Elliott School of International Affairs City View Room and the Marvin Center Continental Ballroom and 3rd Floor Breakout Rooms. The organizers hope to attract up to 150 committed, climate change-oriented, active members of the business, government, academic, and civil society communities, including media, and are inviting a limited number of well-regarded guest speakers to help educate, energize, and mobilize the participants.
The debate is over about whether climate change exists. Now the relevant question is “how can we limit climate threats and enhance our opportunities for climate sustainability”? Join us at our action-conference at GW next month to advance and implement real climate solutions!
